A former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, (NHRC), Chidi Odinkalu, has criticised the Attorney-General of the Federation, (AGF), and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, for choosing some separatism as tolerable. Odinkalu says he finds it troubling that Malami (SAN) is acting as the Senior Advocate of bandits, rather than the Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Katsina: Human Rights Commission rescues woman chained, caged by her family

A woman, identified as Laritu Safiyanu, who was chained and caged by her family members has been rescued by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Gyaza village, in Katsina State. The new development was confirmed on Friday by the Katsina State NHRC coordinator, Barr. Adamu Umaru Kasimu.
