Nigerians in major cities are groaning under the rising cost of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), commonly called cooking gas, as the price has climbed to as high as ₦2,400 per kilogramme in some retail outlets. The sharp increase has worsened hardship for households already struggling with high food prices, transport costs and other living expenses. The Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers, (NALPGAM), says some retailers are exploiting a current supply shortage to hike the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), also known as cooking gas.
