The South-East group, Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, (MASSOB), has insisted that the May 30 Biafra Day celebration must hold, despite threats by Nigeria security agents. MASSOB said there will be a sit-at-home exercise in commemoration of the 57th anniversary of the declaration of Biafra Republic by General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
