Gunmen abduct 11 passengers after attack on another Benue Links vehicle

Gunmen on Sunday night attacked a Benue Links passenger bus and abducted at least 11 persons, multiple sources said on Monday. The driver of the vehicle and four passengers were however said to have escaped after the attack which occurred at about 10pm along Ogbokolo-Otukpa road in Okpokpwu Local Government Area of Benue. A competent source said that the kidnappers had initially demanded for N60 million, but came down to N16 million as ransom to release the passengers. Bandits kill 8 close to IDP Camp in Benue

Bandits attacked a community opposite the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp at Abagena, Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue and killed eight persons including women and children. The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of two Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (DIGs) and promotion of 427 senior police officers. The Police Command in Benua has confirmed the killing of Karl Kwaghger, an Associate Professor with the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi (UMA), by unknown gunmen on Saturday night.
