Tension has engulfed Mai Gwado community in Jushi Ward, Sabon-Gari LGA of Kaduna State, following a violent outbreak that occurred during the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Kaduna State House of Assembly seat. According to reports from the area, the unrest began shortly after the conclusion of vote counting in Jushi, when suspected political thugs allegedly launched coordinated attacks on residents and disrupted activities within the community. Kaduna House of Assembly declares members’ seat ‘vacant’

The Kaduna House of Assembly has declared the seat of Hon. Aminu Abdullahi Shagali, member representing Sabon-Gari constituency, for being absent from all the Assembly’s activities for more than a year without any reason. The decision was made by the House during the plenary presided by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Dr. Isaac Auta Zankai, yesterday. The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), is expected to announce a date of re-run election for the seat.
