The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, yesterday walked more than one kilometre from his palace to the Eid prayer ground, foregoing the traditional horseback procession associated with the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.  This came after the Emir suspended the 2025 Sallah Durbar on Thursday, citing credible threats to his life. The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Muhammad Bello, yesterday banned the forthcoming Eid prayers at the National Eid prayer ground along Umaru Musa YarAdua Expressway, in Abuja. Bello announced the ban in a statement by his media aide, Anthony Ogunleye.
