President Bola Tinubu has ordered the reopening of Nigeria’s land and air borders with Niger Republic, in compliance with the directive by the Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS). ACF appeals reopening of Nigeria/Niger borders

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has appealed to the federal government and members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to consider reopening the Nigerien and Nigerian borders to enhance economic activities between the two countries. A statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Tukur Muhammad Baba, lamented that the continued closure of the borders has affected many small-scale businesses between the two countries, such as food supply, medicine, petrol and electricity, among others.
