Suspected IPOB hoodlums insist ‘sit-at-home’ directive continues, threaten mayhem

Warn Soludo, Ohanaeze, others

Hoodlums, believed to be unknown gunmen, have warned that the Monday sit–at–home directive of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPB), still persists in Anambra State, saying that anybody propagating that it has stopped would pay dearly with their lives.

The warning was written in several papers and scattered in an uncovered coffin, on which was placed a freshly severed human head.

They also warned Anambra Governor-elect, Charles Soludo, with the inscription: ‘Soludo, be warned’, ‘Presidents–General and traditional rulers, we will visit you‘, among others.

The hoodlums also warned Nnobi residents for allegedly not obeying the ‘sit-at-home’ order as well as market ‘masters’ in the, threatening to deal with them over the collection of levies in the Afor Nnobi market and other markets in the State.

It was gathered that the gunmen beat up some passengers on motorcycles and injured others, shouting as they drove about the town, saying that the ‘sit-at-home’ directive continues on Monday and threatened to deal with anybody saying otherwise.

The discovery of the coffin, the corpse and the severed head on Friday morning threw the town into confusion and caused a stampede at the Afor Market, which starts early in the morning and caused a traffic gridlock at the junction.

The corpse and the severed head were subsequently removed by an ambulance, while some on-lookers set ablaze the coffin containing the warning papers.
