Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Muhammad Saad Abubakar III, has confirmed the sighting of the moon, which signals the end of Ramadan fasting.
The Sultan made the announcement in a live broadcast yesterday.
Abubakar said his office received information on the sighting of the moon to end the end of the fasting.
He declared Friday, April 21st 2023 as the first day of Shawwal, 1444AH in Nigeria.
The Sultan felicitated Nigerian Muslims and wished them Gods guidance and blessings, urging them to continue to pray for peace progress and development of the country.
