The Sultan of Sokoto and President of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, has declared Saturday, July 9 for 2022 Eid-el Kabir or Sallah celebration day.

This is according to an issued statement from the National Moon Sighting Committee (NMSC), on Wednesday.
According to the statement, Sultan Abubakar declared today, Thursday, June 30, as the first day of the month of Dhul Hijjah.
The statement reads: “The Sultanate Council has Thursday, 30th June 2022 as 1st day of Zul-Hijjah 1443H. Accordingly, therefore, Eid-el Adha will be on Saturday, 10th Zul-Hijjah 1443H (9th July 2022) In Sha Allah”.
