“Soft laws letting terrorists walk free, soldiers paying with their lives” – CDS blasts judges

CDS blasts judges

The Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, has accused the judiciary of undermining the war on terror by granting leniency to terrorists, warning that weak laws and “technical excuses” are endangering soldiers who risk their lives on the frontlines.

In a fiery television interview, Musa called for special courts to fast-track terrorism trials, insisting that politics, weak prosecutions, and soft punishments are fuelling the resurgence of attacks across the country.

“You risk your life to make an arrest and you are told there’s a technical problem. Do you think that soldier will be ready to sacrifice himself again?” Musa queried.

The Defence Chief warned that terrorists, kidnappers, and their financiers are working hand-in-hand, with foreign funds and local political interests stoking the violence ahead of elections.
