…Declares PDP dead, sold to APC
Outspoken ex-Kogi Senator, Dino Melaye, has torn into President Bola Tinubu, mocking his “endless borrowing spree” and warning that Nigerians may soon see the president turn to fintech apps like Opay and Moniepoint for loans.

Speaking during a televised interview on Monday, Melaye mocked Tinubu’s mounting debt profile, warning that the administration’s appetite for loans had reached absurd levels.
“There is massive hunger in the land. Why is the president borrowing $1.7 billion from the World Bank? Why has the Senate approved $21 billion so far? We won’t be surprised if he starts borrowing from Opay and Moniepoint very soon”, he quipped.
The ex-lawmaker slammed Tinubu’s spending priorities, citing the controversial purchase of a presidential yacht. “This government is one of the most reckless in Nigeria’s history. The yacht he bought has never touched Nigerian waters—it’s been between Monaco and Paris. What do we need a yacht for in a time of hunger?”
Melaye also took aim at his former party, the PDP, declaring it “dead and buried” and now fully controlled by Tinubu’s ruling APC.
“PDP was sold, and I doubt they even got a receipt. What exists today is an APC-controlled PDP, directed from the Villa. Whatever you see now is just an obituary notice,” he said.
The former senator, now a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), vowed that his new party would dislodge Tinubu in 2027.
“I’m a proud member of the ADC. That is the party that will unseat Tinubu and, by the grace of God, send him out of the Villa come May 29, 2027”, he declared.
