Executive Chairman of Liberty Television and FM Stations, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, has extended warm birthday felicitations to two of Nigeria’s distinguished leaders – former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (GCFR), and former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso – describing both as exemplary patriots and visionaries whose lives embody service, integrity, and devotion to the Nigerian project.

In separate goodwill messages issued in Abuja yesterday, Ramalan paid glowing tributes to General Gowon on his 91st birthday, and Senator Kwankwaso on his 69th, commending their enduring legacies of leadership and sacrifice for the unity and progress of Nigeria.

Ramalan hailed General Gowon as a “living legend” and “towering symbol of patriotism, discipline, and unity”, noting that his name remains etched in Nigeria’s history for preserving the nation’s sovereignty during one of its darkest periods.

“As a living chapter in Nigeria’s history, General Yakubu Gowon stands as a symbol of discipline, patriotism, and unwavering commitment to the unity of our great nation”, Ramalan said.

He lauded Gowon’s post-war policy of reconciliation and national healing, describing it as “one of the most admirable acts of leadership ever demonstrated in our national journey”. Ramalan further expressed gratitude to God for the former leader’s longevity and his continued devotion to peace, faith, and service through initiatives such as the Nigeria Prays movement.

“As he turns 91, Team Liberty TV & Radio and I extend our heartfelt congratulations. We pray that he continues to enjoy good health, peace of mind, and many more years surrounded by love and fulfillment”, he added.

Similarly, Ramalan celebrated Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement and former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), describing him as a “visionary statesman and a bridge-builder dedicated to national development”.

He praised Kwankwaso’s steadfast commitment to public service, education, youth empowerment, and infrastructural transformation, noting that his leadership as Governor of Kano State between 1999–2003 and 2011–2015 left an “indelible mark on the state and the nation at large”.

“I wish my brother, Engr. Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, long life, sound health, and more fulfilling years in the service of our nation”, Ramalan said.

He also commended the former Minister of Defence for promoting participatory governance and peace, adding that Kwankwaso’s brand of politics continues to inspire young Nigerians toward civic engagement and leadership.

Concluding his message, Ramalan reaffirmed Liberty TV’s commitment to celebrating Nigerian icons who have contributed immensely to the nation’s unity and progress.

“Nigeria owes deep gratitude to men like General Yakubu Gowon and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, whose vision and service continue to strengthen our democracy and national cohesion”, he stated.
