The convention also produced Sunny Kannu as the National Secretary, after his opponent, Barr. AbdulHakeem Abdullahi Ago, stepped down ahead of voting, clearing the path for his emergence.

All other national positions were uncontested and subsequently affirmed by consensus, reflecting what leaders described as a unified front ahead of future political engagements.

The newly-constituted National Working Committee features a spread of party officials across the six geo-political zones, with several key positions filled through consensus arrangements.

Among those elected alongside Baba Ahmed are Buhari Haruna, as Deputy National Chairman (North); Haruna Nanven, as National Organising Secretary; Patrick Ochuka, as National Financial Secretary, and Dr. Yunusa Bayawo, as National Treasurer. Others include: Musa Buba, as National Auditor; Barr. Vincent Ɗanladi Okudu, as National Legal Adviser; Ozu Important Fredrick, as National Youth Leader, and Comrade Muhammed Bello Is’haq as National Publicity Secretary.

The convention also affirmed Hajiya Rakiya Sani as National Woman Leader and Barr. Abdullahi Abisabo as Director of People with Disability. Zonal representation was further reflected in the emergence of Hon. Abubakar Hamanjoɗa, as Assistant Vice Chairman (North-East); Engr. Abba Namatazu, as Assistant Vice-Chairman (North-West); Ifeanyi Peter Okafor, as Assistant Vice-Chairman (South-East), and Olajide Wolimoh as Assistant Vice Chairman (South-West).

However, a number of positions, including Deputy National Chairman (South), Director of Policy Research and Documentation, and several assistant national offices, remain vacant.

Party insiders said the consensus-driven process underscored internal cohesion and strategic alignment within the PRP as it positions itself for greater national relevance.

The convention, attended by delegates from across the country, marked a significant milestone in the party’s reorganisation efforts and leadership renewal.
