The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, said President Muhammadu Buhari will sign the 2023 Appropriation Bill on Tuesday.

Lawan stated this yesterday, after a closed-door meeting with the President at the State House, Abuja.
According to reports, the Senate President, who arrived at the State House a few minutes before 3:00 pm, met Buhari behind closed doors in the Presidents office in the Villa.
Lawan said he discussed Buharis recent additional loan request and the 2023 Appropriate Bill. He regretted that the signing was coming in a bit later than that of 2022, which was signed on December 31, 2021.
He noted that while the National Assembly looks forward to the presidential assent on the first work day of the New Year, Lawan explained that the delay in the passage of the Bill was owing to some anomalies in the figures presented to the National Assembly.

In the last four years, this would be the first appropriation bill to be assented to by the President after the New Year.
