Plateau State governor Caleb Mutfwang has dismissed rumours that his government plans to ban the use of loudspeakers by mosques.

The claim emerged after a petition circulated on social media, but Mutfwang refuted it during a public address in Bukur Metropolis on Friday evening.
He stated, “There is no such plan. Those spreading this false rumour are trying to create division within our community.”
The governor added that the petition does not represent the views of his administration and assured residents that everyone in Plateau State can freely practice their religion.
Authorities are now investigating the source of the misinformation.
