Obasanjo, Sultan, Abdulsalami convene meeting to discuss pressing national issues

The Interfaith Initiatives for Peace has convened a meeting to discuss pressing issues in the country.

According to a letter addressed to the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Ayuba Wabba, issued by the group, which is jointly led by former president Olusegun Obasanjo, Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Saad Abubakar, former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, and former Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Onaiyekan, stated that issues such as national unity, security, peace, integration, economic revitalisation, and development will be discussed at the meeting.

The letter, personally signed by Obasanjo, read: I am pleased to invite you on behalf of Interfaith Initiatives for Peace, jointly led by the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Mohammed Saad Abubakar and His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan, National Peace Committee, chaired by general Abdulsalami Abubakar and the Socio-cultural Consultative Committee convened by me and all these bodies, called: ‘Committee of Goodness of Nigeria’ (CJN), to an exploratory meeting on pressing issues of national unity, security, peace, integration, economic revitalisation and development, women and youth welfare and general progress.

The meeting is scheduled to hold tomorrow, Thursday, June 10, at the Transcorp Hilton hotel, in Abuja.
