In a statement posted on X, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Micheal Achimugu, condemned the incident as “unacceptable behaviour,” stressing that the actions of both men endangered passengers, crew members, and the safety of the aircraft.

“There is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard an aircraft. Both individuals will face the full strength of the law”  the spokesperson tweeted.

He highlighted the responsibility of the influencers, saying: “It is even more shameful when one considers both of them partners in educating their millions of followers to avoid unruly behaviour”.

According to the spokesperson, the airline involved is expected to file an official report to the regulator, after which legal and regulatory measures will follow.

“The actions of both men put the safety of all other passengers and the crew at risk. It also put the safety of the aircraft at risk”, the statement read.

The NCAA reiterated its ongoing efforts to educate travellers about the consequences of unruly conduct, noting that such behaviour carries serious penalties under aviation rules.

The confrontation reportedly stemmed from an ongoing online dispute between the two influencers, which escalated into a physical fight inside the aircraft cabin. The commotion prompted passengers and crew to intervene to restore order.

Following the incident, VDM shared a video on his Facebook page, claiming he confronted Mr. Jollof during the clash.

The NCAA says further actions will be taken once the airline submits its official report.
