The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced that the fare for the 2026 pilgrimage to Mecca will range between ₦8.1 million and ₦8.5 million, reflecting a reduction compared to the previous year’s rates.
NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed the revised pricing after the commission signed service agreements with providers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The new fare structure, approved by the Federal Government, introduces an average saving of about ₦200,000 per pilgrim compared to 2025. Maiduguri-Yola Zone pilgrims from Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba will pay ₦8,118,333.67, about ₦209,000 less than the ₦8,327,125.59 charged in 2025.
Pilgrims from other northern states will pay ₦8,244,813.67, a reduction of about ₦213,000 from the ₦8,457,685.59 rate last year.
Southern states pilgrims will pay ₦8,561,013.67, roughly N223,000 less than the ₦8,784,085.59 paid for the 2025 Hajj.
NAHCON’s media department, in a statement, confirmed the reduction, adding that each pilgrim will pay an average of ₦200,000 less than the previous year’s amount.
As part of the preparation for the 2026 exercise, NAHCON signed agreements with the Hajj Service Provider Company (Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya) and the Transportation Company (Daleel Al-Ma’aleem).
Usman urged all intending pilgrims to complete their payments by December 31, 2025, to meet the deadline set by Saudi authorities.
