The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, (NAFDAC), has sealed a warehouse in Kaduna after discovering expired food and cosmetic products valued at ₦75 million.

The warehouse, known as Amanat.com, is reportedly located on PP2A Bayajidda Street, near Kano Road and New Ogbomosho Road, in the metropolis.
In an issued statement on Tuesday, NAFDAC’s Director of Investigation and Enforcement, Shaba Muhammed, revealed that the agency’s action followed a tip-off from a concerned Nigerian citizen. It was gathered that a surveillance operation, led by NAFDAC’s investigation team, revealed a staggering quantity of expired goods, including biscuits, dairy milk, vegetable oil, soft drinks, and detergents.
During the operation, workers were seen in the act of transferring expired biscuits from their original packaging into sacks, a clear attempt to repackage and conceal the substandard products.
Muhammed confirmed that the Managing Director of the warehouse had been arrested for questioning.
He stressed that severe regulatory penalties would be enforced once the investigation is complete, serving as a warning to others involved in similar illegal activities, and urged the public to be cautious when buying regulated products and to report any suspicious items to the nearest NAFDAC office.
The official also encouraged the public to report any fraudulent activities to the Agency.
