Liberty TVR is set to disconnect its Abuja headquarters from the national electricity grid this August after activating its Solar Farm Power System to provide uninterrupted electricity for its operations.

Chairman of Liberty TVR, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, announced the development following the activation of the solar facility on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Ramalan said the initiative is part of the Board and Management’s strategic commitment to ensuring a reliable 24-hour power supply for the station’s broadcast operations while reducing dependence on Nigeria’s unstable public electricity supply.

He added that the transition to renewable energy would also significantly cut the station’s diesel consumption and operating costs, enhancing efficiency and supporting the organisation’s long-term sustainability goals.

The move marks a major milestone in Liberty TVR’s infrastructure development, and underscores its commitment to deploying innovative and sustainable energy solutions to strengthen service delivery.
