Lagos amputee hawker acquires N17.5m house

…To establish water factory

Lagos amputee water hawker, Mary Daniel, whose story came to national limelight earlier last April has acquired a 17.5 million building in Igando area of Lagos State.

Recall that Mary’s dream of becoming a lawyer was cut short after her leg was amputated due to an accident she had in 2006. She was the only surviving passenger on the bus.

The single mother, who used to sell bottled water on highways in the Oshodi area of Lagos, said she bought the house, cash down, for N17.5m from the N25m donation she received after her story was published.

The 27-year-old held the housewarming ceremony for the property on Saturday, where she also disclosed her ambition to build a sachet-water bagging factory, which is being constructed in the same compound of the newly acquired house,

According to her, she intends to have the factory named after herself.
