Thirty students of the Federal Government College (FGC) Yauri, in Kebbi State, who were abducted four months ago by bandits have been released.

The spokesperson to Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki, confirmed the release of the students in a statement issued yesterday, but said the bandits are still holding an undisclosed number of others.
Recall that bandits abducted an undisclosed number of staff and students of the public secondary school in June.
Sarki said thirty of the students have regained freedom, however, an undisclosed number remains with the kidnappers, while efforts are still continuing to secure the release of the remaining.
“They shall undergo medical screening and support while being re-united with their families”, he stated.
