Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani, says the State has not experienced any ethno-religious or communal clashes over the past two years.
Speaking at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House during the distribution of 23 vehicles to the traditional leaders yesterday, Sani attributed the absence of clashes in the state to the key role played by traditional leaders. He noted that they have been “working tirelessly, sharing intelligence with security agents and maintaining close ties with our communities”.
“This is why our non-kinetic approach to addressing insecurity is effective. Without the support of our traditional leaders, we would not have achieved the security stability we enjoy in Kaduna State today”, he further stated.
Sani emphasised the importance of synergy between traditional institutions, religious leaders, community leaders, and security agencies. According to him, the vehicles distributed were intended to motivate the traditional leaders acknowledging their essential role in intelligence-gathering and sharing.
The Governor also commended Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of house of representatives, for facilitating the vehicle distribution.
On his part, Abbas said the vehicles, provided by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) are part of a fourth phase of a wider distribution.
He said the vehicles are not just symbolic, but tools to help traditional rulers access all areas of their chiefdoms and emirates, supporting their efforts to maintain peace and security.
