Religious leaders, under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, in Sanga local government area of Kaduna State have passed a ‘vote of no confidence’ on a section of the security agencies, excluding the military, in the area.

This was contained in a communiqu issued at the end of a summit by the clerics, following what they termed the destruction of crops, macheting and indiscriminate killing of Christians across Sanga Local government area.
The CAN Secretary in the area, Apostle Silas Dabo, lamented that the conflict between pastoralists and farmers has since become merchandise and an easy path to opulence by some section of security agents in the local government area.
He further explained that the whole situation has left their farmers helpless and has further aggravated the situation and appealed to the higher authorities to investigate the alleged favouritism and lack of justice, not minding whose ox is gored.
The pastors noted that for the fragile peace to be maintained, the security agents should desist from taking sides on conflicts between farmers and pastoralists.
The communiqu also advocated that cattle-grazing should be halted at the commencement of every farming season until the end of harvest, just as it was the practice decades ago.
