Contrary to an earlier report suggesting he turned down the appointment, Babangida yesterday described the circulating letter as fake and politically motivated.

In an interview with newsmen yesterday, Mohamed said: “It is a concocted letter from disgruntled elements,” he stated, in a brief statement. “I am ready to serve as the Chairman of the Bank of Agriculture”.

The clarification comes amid rising speculations following the emergence of a letter purportedly addressed to President Tinubu, in which Babangida allegedly declined the offer, citing personal and professional reasons.

However, the businessman and philanthropist firmly denied authoring such a letter, reaffirming his commitment to national development under President Tinubu’s administration.
