A socio-political group and affiliate of Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, Njiko Igbo Forum, says it would not recognise Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as its President-General.

This was disclosed in a press release signed by the Forums president, Rev Okechukwu Christopher Obioha, on Friday.
Njiko Igbo Forum said it will, instead, recommend Joe Nworgu, who served as Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, respectively, for Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, in the past.
Recall that a delegation of the Imo Elders Council, led by the chairman, HRM Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, had presented Iwuanyanwu to Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. Ilomuanya told Uzodinma that the Imo State Council of Elders decided to adopt Iwuanyanwu at its meeting in April in Owerri.
However, Njiko Igbo Forum said the group and other Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide affiliate organisations wouldnt recognise Iwuanyanwu.
The statement read in part: As the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide is demised and Imo State is unarguably the State to still retain the President-General, we strongly recommend Joe Nworgu PhD (Cambridge) who was one the contestants to that position.
If Chief Dr. Iwuanyanwu wants to be called the President General, he is on his own and will not be recognised by us, and l am sure by other affiliate organisations of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide.
