Dignitaries, including some presidential aspirants, were yesterday hosted to Iftar dinner by the First Lady, Mrs. A’isha Buhari, in Abuja.

The National Leader of the
All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, Governor Dave Umahi, of Ebonyi, Nasir el-Rufa’i, of Kaduna; Governor Bala Mohammed, of Bauchi, were among the presidential aspirants at the event.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio; one-time National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Barnabas Gemade; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, and oil and gas mogul, Tein Jack-Rich, were also in attendance.
As at 6:20 pm, some of the dignitaries had started entering the venue of the event, which was slated to take off by 6:30 pm in the invitation cards.
The invitation card requested the invitees to refrain from attending with their mobile phones.
Recall that the First Lady had invited all presidential aspirants, across all political parties, to the Ramadan Iftar. She said the Ramadan period provided Nigerians with an opportunity to re-educate themselves in fasting and prayers to ensure peace and development of the country.
Those who have declared for the top spot in the upcoming 2023 presidential election include the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Gov. David Umahi; Gov. Nyesom Wike, and ex-Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
