…Alleges frustration by Tinubu govt.
The 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has accused the President Bola Tinubu-led administration of deliberately frustrating his efforts and source of livelihood.
The former Anambra state governor, who made the allegation while speaking on a recent podcast show, alleged threat to his life, stressing that he may not be alive to contest in the 2027 Presidential election on account of the frustration.
In the interview, alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led administration is meddling with all his activities. According to him, “The way they are going now, I might not even be alive to contest in 2027. Every single thing I do a living, this government is frustrating it; deliberately so. There is even a possibility that if they have the opportunity, I will not be alive. I get frustrated every day, because you do things that you think are normal; but it is not normal any longer. They won’t come directly and say: ‘oh, we are doing this’, but you will see their hand in everything”, he added.
When asked if he was personally attacked, Obi claimed to be attacked with his entitlements, as he recalled having his car locked at the airport.
“They are attacking everybody who is in the opposition personally. I am attacked personally even with things I’m meant to be entitled to. I had a case recently at the airport where people who work in the airport came and locked my car and I said: ‘it is mez. He said he doesn’t care. I said look at cars of other people, and you see them talking to each other as if who is this one?” he said.
The NDC presidential candidate reiterated his campaign pledge to unite the country which, according to him, has been divided. “We have divided the country. That is why I keep saying I want to bring back unity. I want to show compassion, care”, he stated.
