The House of Representatives, yesterday, called on the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to commence Issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) to house owners located within the Mass Housing Scheme Estate.

The resolution of the House was sequel to the adoption of a Motion brought by Hon. Sada Soli.
The lawmaker, in his Motion, noted that legislative powers with regards to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are invested in the National Assembly by the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
He noted again that the Federal Capital Territory Administration is a government organ in Nigeria, headed by the Minister who “shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as may be delegated to him from time to time by the President” as provided in Section 302 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).
