FG orders recruitment of 30,150 personnel into Immigration, NSCDC

Federal workers demand

President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 30,150 personnel across four key para-military agencies, as part of efforts to strengthen internal security and enhance national service delivery.

This was contained in an official statement from the Office of the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to the Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.

The letter, signed by CDCFIB’s Secretary, Major-General A.M. Jibril (rtd), confirms the President’s directive for large-scale recruitment across four major security agencies and the Board Secretariats

The approved recruitment will see 10,000 personnel enlisted into the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) and another 10,000 into the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Additionally, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) is set to receive 5,150 new recruits, while the Federal Fire Service (FFS) will have 5,000 personnel added to its ranks.

The CDCFIB Secretariat will also be strengthened with the recruitment of 209 personnel. The Board also sought a waiver to reduce the statutory 6-week advertisement period for job placements in national dailies to three weeks, in order to fast-track the process.

A financial clearance from the Budget Office of the Federation has also been attached to the communication, indicating that funding is available to support the recruitment exercise.
