According to reports, the former SSA was recently accused of masterminding the abduction of an eight-year-old boy in the Katsina metropolis.

Reacting to the matter in an issued statement yesterday, the State Commissioner of Information and Culture, Bala Salisu Zango, clarified that Garwa was suspended before the allegation.

The statement claimed Garwa was suspended over allegations relating to the diversion of empowerment materials intended for communities in Batsari local government area under the state’s Community Development Programme.  The state government noted that Garwa later indicated interest in contesting for a seat in the Katsina State House of Assembly to represent Batsari local government area.

However, according to the statement, Governor Dikko Umaru Raɗɗa described the activities of the alleged syndicate as unfortunate, expressing concern that an individual with a public profile and political ambition could be linked to such allegations.
