The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), Muhammadu Bello, yesterday disclosed that a committee has been set up to ensure proper collation of all vehicles and property destroyed for compensation.
Bello made the disclosure yesterday when he paid solidarity and a fact-finding visit to Apo Mechanic Village and Dutse-Alhaji, in Bwari Area Council, where violence had erupted during the #EndSARS protests.
He advised Abuja residents to resist attempts by external forces to divide them. He informed the residents that the FCT administration had already held a security meeting with stakeholders drawn from across the board to ascertain the level of damages.
Responding, the Chairman, Apo Traders Association, John Chimeze-Ife, informed the ministers that over N200 million worth of vehicles and properties were destroyed.
The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Aliyu, in her remarks, urged residents to eschew further violence and give peace a chance.
