The ‘Take It Back Movement’, a leading organiser of the #EndBadGovernance nationwide protest, in conjunction with other protest organisers, has announced plans for a massive one-million-man protest across all 36 States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, today, Saturday.

According to National Coordinator of the Movement, Sanyaolu Juwon, this event marks a critical juncture in their nationwide campaign, which began on August 1, 2024.
He said, “The Take It Back Movement (TIB), side-by-side with other organisers and organisations, will on August 10, lead a monumental one-million-man protest in each of the 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.
“This event will mark a critical juncture in our nationwide #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, which began on August 1, 2024. It started as a planned 10-day protest but has evolved into a sustained and widespread movement, drawing participants from every corner of Nigeria and the Diaspora”.
Also, another mobiliser of the Take-It-Back Movement, Abiodun Sanusi, has underscored that mobilising 37 million Nigerians to protest against bad governance “is not a big deal”, given the country’s population of over 220 million.
During a televised interview on Thursday, Sanusi highlighted the reasons behind the decision to organise a larger protest on August 10th. He pointed to the defiance of President Tinubu and the federal government, saying, “The refusal of the president to listen to our demands, the assault on protesters and journalists during the last days have only encouraged us further”.

The protest, which aims to bring attention to the challenges faced by citizens, has garnered massive support nationwide, with good turnout in northern States.
Despite President Bola Tinubu’s appeal for demonstrators to pause and give his government more time to respond to their grievances, the protests have continued unabated in Abuja, Kano, and other areas.
