…Blasts Tinubu over Brazil comment
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has come out strongly against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), warning it not to play politics with hunger and poverty ravaging Nigerians.

Speaking on Liberty TV’s flagship programme: ‘PoliticsNOW’ yesterday, PDP National Vice-Chairman (South-South), Chief Emmanuel Ogidi, described as “reckless” the APC’s reaction to the party’s recent zoning of its 2027 presidential ticket to the South.
Ogidi also lampooned President Bola Tinubu’s remark in Brazil that “there is no corruption in Nigeria”, saying such comments were “an insult to the lived reality of Nigerians” and only deepened the disconnect between the Government and citizens.
On zoning, he explained that the decision was carefully taken to “ward-off rancour and promote internal cohesion” within the PDP ahead of 2027. He stressed that the party was deliberately refraining from discussing the presidential race at this stage, noting that “the priority now is rebuilding trust and structures, not personalities”.
Taking aim at former PDP governors who defected to the APC, Ogidi branded them as “traitors”, but maintained that the floodgate of defections posed no existential threat to the PDP. “We have drawn the red line. Anti-party activities will no longer be tolerated”, he warned, daring those undermining the party to brace for consequences.
On Rivers politics, Ogidi sent a blunt message to former governor Nyesom Wike, urging him to retrace his steps or “have himself to blame”.
Reaffirming the party’s resilience, Ogidi said: “The PDP has survived storms before. The defections, the blackmail, the propaganda — none of these will shake our foundation. Nigerians know where hope lies”.
