…Pledges free, fair, transparent electoral process
President Muhammadu Buhari has decried the annulment of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election twenty-nine years after describing it as “an incident emanated from the worst of our leadership”.

The president stated this yesterday, during a nationwide broadcast as part of the activities to mark the 2022 Democracy Day in Abuja.
The President, therefore, urged the Nigerian people should not to forget the labours of the nation’s founding fathers by making sure they make their political leaders accountable.
Buhari said the election revealed the best of the Nigerian citizens, as they trooped out en-masse to vote peacefully that fateful year in the election that gave the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), the Late Bashorun MKO Abiola, a landslide victory at the polls.
The President also expressed his administration’s commitment to protecting Nigeria and Nigerians from all enemies from within and outside. He revealed that the Federal Government had reformed the nation’s security structure with the hope of achieving the desired goals.
Buhari called on citizens to offer special prayers for all victims of terrorist activities across the country.
