Crude Production: Navy targets 2m bpd before Dec. 31

The Nigerian Navy Ship, ‘NNS Pathfinder’, has expressed optimism that the two million barrels per day (bpd) crude oil production target of the Nigerian National Petroleum Limited, (NNPCL), can be achieved before the end of 2024.

The Commander, NNS Pathfinder, Commodore Cajethan Aniaku, said judging from the results achieved so far from its personnel, achieving the target may not be far-fetched.

Commodore Aniaku gave the assurance while addressing newsmen yesterday in Port Harcourt, during its ‘4th Quarterly Road March’. 

He said, “We are almost 100%, we are very efficient in delivering our mandate and we have done that satisfactorily and our efforts are yielding desired results, because the production of crude oil as of today stands at 1.8 million bpd, which is a remarkable achievement. We are hoping that towards the end of the year, we might reach two million”.

Commodore Aniaku, who led

the 8-kms road march alongside other senior officers along Akar and Iwofe Roads, in Rumuolumeni, Obio/Akpor local government area of the State,  to the admiration of residents.

The Commander explained that the road walk was part of the Navy’s effort to keep personnel physically and mentally fit in order to efficiently tackle challenges in the course of their duty of securing the nation’s maritime domain.

The NNS Pathfinder Commander also assured of adequate security within the maritime environment, urging members of the public to collaborate with the Navy in providing credible information that will assist in the combating of crime and criminality in the State.
