Nigeria’s First Lady, A’isha Buhari, has again apologised to Nigerians, saying that due to many expectations the citizens have of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, she is not sure if the government has met them.

The First Lady, who stated this in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), said that this is the reason she apologised to Nigerians.
Recall that reports quoted Mrs. Buhari apologising to Nigerians about the hardships they are facing during the special prayers she organised on October 1st to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the country’s independence.
She said, “The expectations on us were so high, and maybe after seven years, we haven’t met their expectations. She further said, “Only God knows what is in somebody’s mind. As a human being, you can’t say you are right, or you have done what you should; so, the government has really tried. The administration did its best, but it may not be the best for others. So, we must apologise to Nigerians, whether we met their expectations or not”.
When asked about the areas she thought the Government failed the most, A’isha replied that she didn’t follow the Government programmes, saying: “I don’t know; because I run my office like a charity; I only accept people. I don’t belong to politics. All I do is support them in terms of health or education. I don’t follow what they do”.
According to her, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will win the next presidential election. “We (APC) will continue. APC will win the election. By God’s grace”, she maintained. “We faced a big challenge; because, when my husband came to power there were no resources, but I insisted that we are the ones who promised that we will do it, and so we have to do it”, she added.

Mrs. Buhari further clarified that she does not have any political ambition. She said, “I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be the wife of the President; it’s a great position. I thank God, and I am asking Him to make us finish safely and hand over power to another APC government.
“I don’t have any political ambitions. I will be the wife of the former president, what else am I looking for?” she concluded.
