Says Asiwaju knows he worked against him in 2023
Former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lami?o, has credited President Bola Tinubu for single-handedly engineering his emergence even though his party man and former President Muhammadu Buhari worked against him.

In a recent interview, Lami?o, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, who made the shocking revelations, disclosed that Buhari never wanted Bola Tinubu to succeed him as President.
Lami?o claimed that Buhari had his eyes on a different candidate, Ahmed Lawan, the former Senate President. He also stated that Buhari didn’t trust his then-Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, to take over the reins.
According to Lami?o, Tinubu’s emergence as President was a result of his own efforts and determination. He described Tinubu as a “daring and self-made man” who didn’t owe his victory to anyone, including Buhari.
Lami?o also criticised Buhari’s lack of courage in pushing for his preferred candidate, stating that his calculations were “absurd” and didn’t take into account the complexities of Nigerian politics.
He further said: You have done eight years for the North and you wanted another Northerner for another eight years?! No. Maybe later; but there are some dynamics which you cant alter, not in Nigeria of today.
“The president of Nigeria, after being in office for eight years, lacked the courage to push through his anointed choice. He was there at the convention and Tinubu that he never liked, he never believed in emerged. Tinubu knows that his victory wasnt from Buhari, therefore, he owes him nothing, he further stated.
