…Pledges stronger regional collaboration
The Broadcasting Organisations of Nigeria (BoN) Zone-A has elected veteran broadcaster Ibrahim Dosari, as its new chairman following a virtual zonal meeting held yesterday.

The meeting, convened via Zoom, brought together key broadcast executives and member-organisations from across Zone-A to deliberate on leadership and strategic direction for the next phase of the association’s activities.
In a unanimous decision reached by consensus, members endorsed Dosari as the new chairman for a two-year tenure, in line with the provisions of the BoN Constitution. His election is seen as a unifying step aimed at strengthening coordination among broadcasters within the zone at a time the industry faces rapid technological changes and regulatory shifts.
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Dosari expressed deep appreciation to members for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to advance the interests of broadcasters in the zone and reposition the regional bloc for increased relevance.
“I thank every member for this honour. I will work to move Zone-A forward”, Dosari assured, highlighting his commitment to improved synergy, professional development, and proactive engagement with national BoN leadership.
The meeting concluded with renewed calls for greater cooperation among broadcast outlets in northern Nigeria, particularly in addressing shared challenges such as digital migration, content regulation, infrastructural deficits, training, and industry ethics.
The resolution was formally adopted and issued by BoN yesterday.
