The former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says it is uncharitable for Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State to label his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, as a terrorist governor.
Fani-Kayode made this known in a string of tweets on Monday night, hours after Ortom called Mohammed a Fulani terror member for saying herdsmen bear AK-47 rifles for self-defence.
Fani-Kayode wrote, To call Bala a terrorist is unacceptable and erroneous. I doubt that has ever killed a chicken let alone a human being.
We must choose our battles wisely and know who our real enemies are. I have disagreed with my friend and brother, Gov. Bala Mohammed, on several occasions over the years and I do not share his views on a number of issues but to describe him as a terrorist is uncharitable and absurd”.
The ex-minister, who also said he could name at least two terrorist governors, however did not mention the names of such governors.
Recall that Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Monday said he remained convinced that his Bauchi State counterpart, Bala Mohammed, is a member of Fulani terrorists group terrorising Nigeria.
Ortom had said that the Bauchi governor was part of the conspiracy against him, adding that with the manner Mohammed was attacking him, his life is no longer saved.
The Bauchi governor had criticised Ortom when he accused him (Ortom) of creating bad media campaign against Fulani ethnic group, stating that the situation had worsened the herder-farmer crisis.
