Bandits have abducted the son of President Muhammadu Buharis top aide and Administrative Officer in the Presidential Villa,Abubakar Maikano.
Sanusi Maikano, who is in his early 40s, is the third child of the prseidential aide. Security sources in Kaduna said the young man was kidnapped on Saturday, around 8:30 pm, after returning from his farmhouse.
Witnesses said Sanusi was abducted in his residence in Gwantu, headquarters of Sanga local government area in Kaduna State, which is about two hours drive to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The armed bandits, numbering about eight, trailed Sanusi from his farmhouse to his residence, a security official said.
The bandits didnt harm anybody inside the house, where Sanusis two wives also reside, one of the sources told newsmen yesterday.
Another source said the gunmen took away their victim without firing any shot, another source said, adding that there was no security in the house when the gunmen came.
This is coming nearly four months after the official residence of Maikano inside the Presidential Villa was burgled.
Recall that in May this year, robbers had broken into Maikanos official residence in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, days before another attempt on the residence of Buharis Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari.
There was no immediate comment from the Kaduna State Police Command over the incident.
