There are reports from Karaye Emirate Council of Kano state on the abduction of Hajia Aishatu Aliyu, wife of the village head of Tsara in Rogo local government area, whichhas physical borders with both Katsina and Kaduna in Kano-South.
A statement issued by the Information Officer, Karaye Emirate Council, Haruna Gunduwawa, said the woman was kidnapped from her matrimonial home last Friday, around 1:00am.
The signed statement explained that unknown persons in a large number entered the house of the village head of Tsara, Aliyu Muhammad at 1.00 am of Friday morning and took away his wife, Aishatu Aliyu.
The statement further explained that the abductors shot severally into the air before taking away their victim, as he added that the ensuing melee forced residents to vacate the comfort of their homes to the nearby bush.
According to the statement, as at press time, the Police Public Relations Officer to Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, could not be reached for comments as efforts at connecting him on his known phone lines were unsuccessful.
The Emir similarly enjoined his subjects to devote more time to prayers as panacea to tackle the social problems.
