The Board of Trustees of the Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association, (NBMOA), has appointed Muhammad Babandede, (OFR) as the Interim Chairman of the Executive Council of the association.

The appointment, conveyed in an official letter signed by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijjani Ramalan, will take effect from December 1, 2024.
Babandede, a former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), who currently serves as the Chairman/CEO of Muhasa Television and Radio, will lead the association for an interim period of six months.
During this tenure, he and the members of the Executive Council and the Board of Trustees will Reposition the Association oversee the conduct of elections to fill vacant positions within the Executive Council of the association with Financial Corporate and Individual Owner Members licensed by the National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC).
The letter emphasized the confidence of the Board in Babandede’s leadership and extensive experience in the Public Service and the Broadcast Media industry.
He is tasked with repositioning the association to promote freedom, improve working conditions, and create better marketing opportunities for the Northern broadcast stations in Nigeria’s advertising industry, the Federal and States Ministries Departments and Agencies, Local and International Non-Governmental Organisations and Agencies.
To further consolidate the association’s impact and foster greater inclusivity, the NBMOA Board of Trustees urges Babandede to prioritize a robust membership drive during his tenure.
The appointment highlights NBMOA’s Board of Trustees dedication to fostering collaboration among its members Regulators Stakeholders and strengthening the broadcast media landscape in Nigeria.
Expressing their support, the Board of Trustees wished Babandede success in his new role and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the interests of broadcast media owners across the region and Nigeria.
