An Assistant Commissioner of Police and Commanding Officer of No.73 Police Mobile Force Squadron, Magumeri in Borno State, Egbe Eko Edum, who went back home to Cross Rivers State to visit his family was axed to death in Calabar after his car reportedly broke down.
His corpse has been deposited at the mortuary.
Meanwhile, residents of the area woke up in shock with the breakdowna vehicle still parked on the middle of the road with blood stains.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Irene Ugbo, who confirmed the incident, said an investigation will be launched into the killing.
