APC: More Northern groups call for Ganduje’s removal as APC Chairman

Two different groups from the North-Central geo-political zone have initiated legal actions aimed at overturning the appointment of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC).

The groups are the ‘Concerned North-Central APC Stakeholders‘ and the ‘North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum‘.

One of the groups, the Concerned North-Central APC Stakeholders, in a letter addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party, dated April 30, 2024, emphasised the need to uphold the zoning arrangement, which designates the Party’s chairmanship to the North-Central zone.

Subsequently, the group, led by Muhammed Sa’idu Etsu and others, filed an originating summons before an FCT High Court, arguing that Ganduje’s tenure violates the APC Constitution and the consensus reached at the 2022 National Convention.

They seek the court’s intervention to nullify Ganduje’s appointment on the grounds of procedural irregularities.

Defendants named in the suit include: Ganduje, the APC, the APC National Executive Committee, (NEC), and the APC National Working Committee, (NWC).

Similarly, the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum, represented by their counsel Ayuba Abdul Esq, lodged a suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja, contesting the breach of the party’s Constitution in Ganduje’s nomination to replace former chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, in 2023.
