…Says appointments are their ‘rewards, entitlements’
An All Progressives Congress, (APC) senior and critical member, Senator Grace Jackson Bent, has reminded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about the need to reward faithful members of the party.
The non-serving Senator from Adamawa State, made the appeal during Iftar breakfast that members of the APC Presidential Campaign Committee (PCC) and Independent Campaign Committee (ICC) were hosted to by Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, to break the Iftar breakfast of the holy month of Ramadan.
Grace spoke in the audience of President Tinubu, Vice-President, Kashim Shettima, the Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the SGF, Senator George Akume, among senior APC critical members in attendance, when the President asked for a women’s voice to be heard during the Ramadan fast-breaking.
According to her, “Women played major roles throughout the campaign period, and transversed the nation’s nooks and crannies campaigning for the President, it is high time to reward them”.
She reiterated that PCC and ICC members are not clamouring for appointments, but that it’s their entitlement because they worked for the victory of the APC during the 2023 Presidential Election, saying the payback time is now.
She voiced out that all the support groups need an appointment, adding that the time is now for President Tinubu to act, stressing that it can strengthen the bond of love for the Party. She, however, commended the President for working hard for the country, saying they believed that things would turn out for the better.
The outspoken Senator assured Tinubu that the women would steadfastly pray for him because they are God’s favorite, and that He listen to their prayers all the time.
She extolled Tinubu as God’s Oracle for the nation, assuring that they are duty-bound to keep the flame of praying burning for him to succeed.
Early in his speech, President Tinubu said he has never forgotten about them, and that he will do all that is necessary to pay them for all their support.
Prior to her appeal, sources said there has been the open and secret murmurings and complaints among the loyal members of the ruling party, and Senator Grace’s speech during the Ramadan fast-breaking appeared that she spoke the minds of hundreds of other Party members.
