Addressing newsmen in Kaduna yesterday, Chairman of the ACF Board of Trustees, (BoT), Bashir Ɗalhatu, described the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the Forum’s journey since its establishment in 2000, honour its founding fathers, and renew its commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous region.

ÆŠalhatu noted that for the past quarter-century, ACF has consistently championed Northern interests, promoted peaceful coexistence, and constructively engaged government on issues of governance, security, and economic growth. He said the Forum has remained a vocal advocate for the rights and welfare of Northern communities, helping shape national discourse and guide the region through challenges ranging from insecurity to economic exclusion.

As part of the celebration, the ACF announced a series of events slated for November 20–22, expected to attract key stakeholders from government, traditional institutions, civil society, and the private sector. The programme includes discussions on Northern Nigeria’s future, leadership engagement, and strategies to deepen regional unity.

The commemorative activities are scheduled to kick-off with a golf tournament held from November 20 to 22 at the Kaduna Golf Club, chaired by former Senate President David Mark, aimed at involving the elite class in the festivities.

A youth football tournament, which began on October 31, will climax with its grand finale on Thursday, November 20, at Ranch Bees Stadium in Kaduna. The match will be chaired by the President of the Nigeria Football Federation, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin will serve as Special Guest of Honour.

ÆŠalhatu said the youth-focused event is designed to discover talent, engage young people, and strengthen social cohesion.

He expressed confidence that the series of events and stakeholder engagements would help shape a stronger path forward for both the region and the nation.
