A coalition of political stakeholders, youth groups, and community leaders under the umbrella of the Kaduna Central Progressive Forum (KCPF) has called on Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar Mairago to join the 2027 senatorial race for the Kaduna-Central Senatorial District, describing him as a credible, grassroots-oriented leader with the experience and passion to provide effective representation.
Speaking after a strategic consultative meeting held in Kaduna on the 6th, the group’s spokesperson, Comrade Musa Adamu, said the call became necessary in view of the need for competent and transparent leadership that prioritizes the people’s interest above personal or political considerations.
“Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar Mairago has demonstrated uncommon dedication to service. His integrity, humility, and commitment to community development stand him out as a leader the people of Kaduna Central can trust”, Comrade Adamu stated.
The group commended Mairago’s consistent engagement with youths and women across the senatorial zone, noting his contributions to education, empowerment, and peaceful coexistence. They expressed confidence that his candidacy would rekindle hope among the people and give Kaduna Central a strong and respected voice at the National Assembly.
“We have followed his political journey and social impact over the years. He listens to the people, understands their challenges, and has always used his position to support others. This is the kind of leadership Kaduna Central deserves”, the group added.
The meeting was also attended by members of the ‘Mairago Vanguard for Tinubu and Uba 2027’, led by Hon. Suleiman Abubakar, Senior Special Assistant on Research, Documentation, and Strategy II to Governor Uba Sani.
In his remarks, Hon. Abubakar urged eligible voters to obtain their voter’s cards ahead of the 2027 elections to ensure the re-election of Governor Uba Sani for a second term so he can consolidate on his achievements. He cautioned voters not to be deceived by opposition parties, emphasizing continued support for the All Progressives Congress, (APC).
He further praised the KCPF for endorsing Barr. Mairago as their preferred candidate for the Kaduna-Central Senatorial seat (Zone 2), describing him as a youthful, competent, and widely respected figure whose record of service and political experience remain unmatched in the zone.
The group, therefore, appealed to political parties and stakeholders across Kaduna Central to rally around Barrister Mairago as a unifying figure capable of building bridges across diverse communities.
The statement concluded with a passionate appeal directed to Mairago himself: “We urge you, Barrister Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar Mairago, to heed this clarion call and present yourself for service in 2027. The people are ready, and the time is now”.
