2023: ‘Some APC leaders sponsoring calls to set up Interim Govt. after Buhari’, Buba Galadima alleges

A leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Buba Galadima, has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is behind calls for an interim government to run the country after Muhammadu Buhari’s 8-year term ends in 2023. This is less than a hundred days before the general elections.

In a published interview at the weekend, Galadima, a close ally of former Kano governor Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who is the NNPP’s presidential candidate, called the people behind the move “enemies of Nigeria and democracy.” He said that some leaders in the APC knew that the ruling party had a small chance of winning the upcoming elections, which is why they wanted an interim government in 2023.

According to him, “Those who are making such accusations are Nigeria’s opponents. They are adversaries of democratic government. They want to bring a major problem to the nation of Nigeria.

“The leaders of the APC are supporting the people who are making these statements because they are aware that their party will not win the elections in 2023. The persons associated with the APC are behind the scheme. This is one of the reasons why they are so adamant on putting a halt to the use of BVAS in the elections at any cost, and if they have their way, it would be a recipe for catastrophe; nevertheless, there will be opposition to their plans”.
